So every now and then I scroll through the Freshly Pressed page and am usually disappointed by the lack of Fiction posts (none, really)

Obviously this can be seen as a self serving request, but also the number of flash fiction and short stories blogs on WordPress would have me believe I am not alone in my interests.

Am I just not visiting the FP page often enough? Are the flash fiction and short story posts not up to snuff? Should writers be doing something different/better to have a greater chance of being featured?

(I apologize if this has already been asked, I went through the first few pages and saw nothing.)
