They do this thinking they are going to gain a link on your site back to theirs, but at wordpress.com, they do not.

There is Follower Spam, same as there is Like spam. There's no way to dump those Followers, because they don't actually take up any of your attention, so just ignore them.

I have recently had two new followers, but when I check their details they seem to be businesses with lots of advertising on their sites - and do not seem to be real bloggers. Is this the latest type of Spam? Is there any way to dump those followers who do not seem legitimate? Having read some of the other forum posts, I'm not going to blog about them in case I get more.
