I realize I didn't answer the question. It wasn't what my query was about and I'm not aware of any obligation to provide you with information simply because you ask it. It was my understanding per the disclaimer below the reply box, that comments were to stay on the topic at hand. I do appreciate you trying to educate me further, but, unfortunately, I didn't have time to broach an additional topic.

You're welcome. But you didn't answer my question (which has to do with your wasting your storage space, increasing the loading time of your blog, and reducing the quality of the displayed images).

a) Click on each image on your front page to see the difference: the thumbnails link to the post while the medium sized images link to the original file. That's because the thumbnails are featured images while the medium ones aren't: they are regularly inserted images.

b) All the options (size, alignment etc) on the image popup apply to regularly inserted images only, not featured images. The size of featured images is determined by the theme.

c) The files you've been uploading are huge, and that's a big mistake. Before I tell you more about this, you need to answer this question: currently your images link to the original file when clicked; is that intentional or not?

I'm using the Forever Theme and am having trouble with the featured images for posts. Though I select medium size (200 x 300) for all the photos, some of the featured images appear as thumbnails while others are the medium size. Once you click on a post all the picture are the same size. I've used the same camera to shoot all of these pictures so I'm not sure what the discrepancy is. Does anyone know how I can avoid these thumbnail size images as the posts' featured images?
