Can you provide a little more information about the subject of your site? E.g., is it a blog, or an online magazine, or a portfolio/photo site? This will make it easier to recommend a theme.

I recommend browsing through http://theme.wordpress.com/ to start experimenting with themes. We have useful filters that let you narrow the themes down into categories, subjects, features, etc.
