and the format has seemed to change- now all of the pictures are not displayed

Where you've inserted the Gallery shortcode in a post or page, all images uploaded and attached to that post or page should display.

Since we cannot tell which post you refer to that does not display all images, please give us a direct link, starting with http:// and let us know what images are not displaying in the Gallery. Giving the direct links of those images would also assist.
