Since the introduction of the Carousel, the default behavior for clicking on any Gallery thumbnail image is opening of the Carousel overlay and there's no way to disable it.

Alternatively you could use a table or CSS to insert thumbnail images without using the Gallery feature and then link them to their attachment page. Certainly more time-consuming but possible. See here: http://agallerydemo.wordpress.com/parent-page/child-page-1/grandchild-page/

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. Is there a way to avoid the step in the middle? I'd like for the permalink page to pop up right when I click on the pics...

Hi,
I have a question. I run a blog (www.camilosanin.com) for a friend to show his art work.
Therefore I have galleries (under work) which open in attachment pages.
It used to show not only the caption, but also the description, but for a while now that has changed, the description is gone. Is there a way for me to make the descriptions show up again on the attachment page?
Thanks a lot.
