If you want the content back on blog "A" then you will have to export the content from B and import it back into blog A. WordPress will not create duplicate sites.

If you just wanted a new blank blog B leaving blog A just as it was, then you should have just registered a new blog B.

I had a blog url A.
Wanted to change url name for a bit so I changed it to url b
Wordpress then created a whole new blog using my url A, while leaving my content on blog with url B.

My issue is that I want the new blog - which has this url B - to go back to have url A. And to get rid of this new plain blog that wordpress created. So in other words, dump the blank blog but take my old url back with its content.

In fact you had to click the button to have it deleted. See #6 in this support document on changing a blog address. In step 6 it says,

If you check this box, you will not be able to use peturaburrows.wordpress.com again.

Sorry, there is no getting it back. You can set up another one with a similar name, or perhaps a variation on that name, but you cannot get that specific URL back again.

I changed my blog url from "peturaburrows.wordpress.com" to "istoryin.wordpress.com" and it created a whole other blog. Why?? Now I can't get my first URL back. It's saying that "peturaburrows.wordpress.com" is already taken. :( I'm apprehensive about doing anything else like "transfering" or deleting the current blog with hopes that that means that the name now becomes available.... because I might lose the url completely. Sigh. Please help. I am confused because the document said that if I checked the box I couldn't use the URL again. But I didn't check said box.

I just want my URL back. Please
