dwoog - if you're still receiving the wrong notifications, please let me know in a separate thread. Our team is still working on some subscription-related repairs, but the particular case described above where a self-hosted site is incorrectly receiving WordPress.com notifications should now be fixed.

Once you click in the Leave a Reply comment box, you will see the "Notify me of follow-up comments via email" check box appear. Simply un-check this box before you submit your comment and you will not receive email notifications.

I've verified that all of the "email notification" and "follow" boxes are unchecked.

The emails I'm receiving are different than anything I've ever seen before, coming from WordPress.com in HTML format with blue piping at top and bottom.

When I choose "Modify your subscription options" at the bottom of the screen and delete the subscription, it automatically reappears as soon as I make a comment or simply approve a comment from someone else.

How do I turn this off?
