all caught my eye. Would either of you say that any of these themes are particularly good?

As timethief pointed out, in most themes you can add your own image as a background (or in the sidebar).

And most themes work the same: there's nothing in Girl in Green that makes it more user-friendly than the rest.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to best remove the semi-transparent "veil" that goes over all of the images on the homepage of the "girl in green" theme? It tends to make all of the photos look very washed out, and I'm hoping there is some way of changing this.
