FWIW if you are sufficiently skilled at downloading and tweaking things, a recent drop of Twenty Twelve appears to be available at https://github.com/WordPress/WordPress/tree/master/wp-content/themes/twentytwelve.

No idea (I'm not WP.com staff) how current this is compared to what's available on WP.com, nor do I have any idea if it's usable on WP 3.4.x.
