switch my post titles to h1 and the name of my blog to h2

All H headings have specific meanings to search engines. THE most important link on your blog is your site title link and it's an H1. Your post titles are H2 links and that's the correct designation. Don't muck with H headings in your posts - web designers know what they are doing when they create themes.

There doesn't seem to be a reason to duplicate that? Or are you asking about a CSS format change for your entire site?
