The best practice is to prepare the image offline, optimize and pre-size the image to the correct dimensions prior to uploading it. Then you will have an image that is neither stretched not scryunched and no image quailty will be lost. Please read troubleshooting images for more tips.

Cropping an image for the header is not best practice. The OP needs to make an image the size needed for Digg3 or it will be distorted.

timethief has been a volunteer for many years, with much experience and reliable answers. You have been here less than 1 hour. Please research your answers before posting.

@bienthong exactly you have to do some little work that you have to get the images resized 960x720 . Then upload it to theme options by going to the themes page .

@bienthong You have to resize your image to given pixels and then make it larger then the given resolution and then you are able to crop the picture as you want

Thanks TT,
The actual immage is used 960x720 (65K), then I resized down 800x600, but I have same problem. Btw, I will take time to study more your suggestions. Thanks again.

So, what a problem and how to move it down a position I want ?

Do be aware that we cannot edit themes or templates on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. The only way you can move the header image into any other position is to purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing.

You are using the Digg3 theme and the header size dimensions for that theme are Images of exactly 904 × 160 pixels will be used as-is. If you are uploading images that are either smaller or larger than those dimensions and relying on the cropper then what's happening is that the images are either being stretched of scrunched so they fit the header space. That means a loss of image quality.

Hi,
I load a picture to crop for Header, but frame for croping freezing on top of picture.
I tried many times but failed. So, what a problem and how to move it down a position I want ? Thanks.
