If so it can take 24 to 72 hours for the changes to migrate to the far corners of the internet. Just leave a Post at the top of your WordPress.COM blog that says "We have moved to ....... then have a link to your new site" also turn off search engines so they won't crawl your original WordPress.COM site.

Then blog a lot at the new site and the old site will go away in the search engines.

So now the blog that I want to use is through GoDaddy but the URL address has WordPress at the end. If I take out the WordPress at the end it brings up the one I started originally w/ WordPress.

Is there any way that I can change, deactivate, or delete the original blog without risking the new blog that I've been working on?
