It does not mean two columns of posts. There are some themes here that offer two columns of posts, but the only one that comes to mind at the moment is Inuit Types.

I'm wondering if you know how to apply two columns to your blog page in the WordPress Twenty Eleven theme.

The theme supposedly says it supports two columns but I don't know how to activate this feature.
