BTW, this is the solution I ended up going with. I used...

.single .entry-meta {<br /> display: none;<br /> }

...to hide all the meta data from the single post page. This removes, all the meta data - not just the author. However, the category and tags are still shown on other post pages. Seems like a compromise I can live with.

Some themes break out their metadata so you can hide bits of it, and some don't, like the one you're using. That means it's all or nothing when it comes to hiding things.

I would like to remove (i.e. hide) the author link for my posts. Currently the post reads "This entry was posted in tag, tag, tag by Author. Bookmark the permalink."

(I manage this blog on behalf of someone else, and don't really want my name made public).

I realise this can be done with CSS, and that it it theme-specific. I am using the Twenty Twelve theme. I have purchased the custom design upgrade.
