The issue was my XML file was multiline and WordPress only took one-liners. So I stripped the \n's out of it. I recommend that you empty the Trash folder and try the import again. Let me know how it goes!

No new posts, nothing. I get the email confirming the import, and that's it. I manually sent to Recycle all posts and nothing. Can I start over?
