The URLs you've used are these:

http://avoidthesummerslide.com/
They aren't URLs of images, they are URLs of webpages.

As timethief said, you need to copy the images to your computer, upload them via Media > Add New, copy their File URLs, use those URLs in the Image widgets.
If the images are large, then ideally you should also downsize them to the right pixel width in an image editing application before uploading them. For maximum width see here:
