I would like to change this so that the sidebars are present on every post.

Templates are for Pages not Posts. That's not possible. There is no sidebar on single posts in Twenty Eleven.

I'm using the Twenty Eleven theme which allows you to apply templates to each page (default, sidebar, or showcase).
The individual posts that are published are posted as the default template. I would like to change this so that the sidebars are present on every post.
