It was a malware issue which Norton Utilities failed to catch or solve. They are gone the minute my contract with them runs out.Their customer service with regard to this issue was nonexistent. Given the cost of their product, I should not have had to solve this problem on my own. I'm sure there's another company out there offering the excellent service Norton provided when I first signed on with them.

I've lost quite a bit of time with this problem. This is not a leisure activity for me, it's work related. I can't afford to spend a minute more than I have to.

Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all. The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.
