This is a CSS editing thread and all CSS editing is theme specific.
Have you also purchased that upgrade?
Are you using the same theme as the person who posted this thread?

If you do, I can see a way you can hide the permalink IF you can stand losing the category listing too. Vut I don't see a way to separate out the permalink.

To remove the whole line if you have the CSS upgrade, try this in your CSS editor:
.entry-meta {display: none;}
