Thank you, but I do still want to get the notifications (all of them); I just don't want people to be able to see my email. Is there really no way? :(

You're email address is not being publicly displayed on the blog when it's on the dashboard in a comment. Even after the comment is approved and published on the blog the email address is not publicly displayed to blog readers.

If you are worried about this then I suggest you get a throwaway email address and use it in conjunction with your blog. Many of us do that, myself included.

You have two separate email address settings at WordPress.com.

Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.

Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

My email is marked as "will not be publicly displayed", yet when I commented on my own blog and clicked on my name, I could see my email—"Username
Blog
Email
I.P. Address
Submitted on 2012/11/12 at 9:24 pm | In reply to xxx.
xxxxx"—under "/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?user_id=xxxx".

My friend's email also displayed (and hers is also marked as private), so I'm assuming that mine is showing up on other people's blogs when I comment.

Is there any way to take that down?
