Change YOUR_IMAGE_URL to an image link to an image you've uploaded to your media library.

Used the code, as is. the image is there. but it's not transparent. it's still a light greyish white. but no transparency.
Although i made the image's opacity 30% when i saved it on illustrator and then made it into a png? I don't get it.

When you do that, the URL for that uploaded image will be in a grey field down toward the bottom of the upload page. That is the URL you have to put into the code.

As far as image editing programs, I don't know what you have, or what OS you are using (Windows, Mac, etc.). Most image editing programs such as Photoshop, or GIMP, etc., will allow you to create PNG images and set levels of transparency. There are ways to do this purely with CSS, but the issue is all browsers do not recognize it, and in addition, the CSS in this theme is not structured correctly for a CSS only solution. That is why I suggested the image instead.

Create a PNG image with the level of transparency that you want and make it about 5px x 5px. Upload it to your media library, get the URL of that image and then put it into the background declaration shown below (where URL OF IMAGE is between the quote marks). Add this code to the bottom of your existing CSS.
