To remove the sidebar you should either buy the Custom Design upgrade or switch to a theme with no sidebar or a theme in which the sidebar is optional - see here:

I am new to wordpress and I have a free theme, but I found where I can edit the CSS using my firefox browser... I went under View ---> Page source... But then I cannot find how to remove the sidebar! I dont want to delete something that shouldnt be deleted!

Can anyone help me!?
