It's very much like Word, but designed for blogging, so you can add pictures, categories, etc. And it's free.

Microsoft WORD is not web compliant. http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/Therefore if you copy and paste from it you are copying and pasting some junk code. If you decide that you still want to use Word then you should use the Word cleanup feature to remove all extraneous tags from your text. http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/#using-word-cleanly

You can use an offline blog client such as Windows Live Writer (Windows) or Ecto (Mac) and then everything is saved on your computer and when you are done with the post, you actually publish it directly from the blog client software.
