You can edit your own tweets, but you can't do that to other people's. The best thing to do is to put at least a sentence of your own before the quote.

I often start an article quoting another article and the first paragraph or so of that is usually displayed. I'd prefer to have my commentary, which is usually further down the article be displayed.
