Hi,

They made a mistake. They have the CNAME as wildliliesjewelry.wordpress.com but it needs to be blogdotwildliliesjewelrydotcom.wordpress.com

They'll have to fix it. Let me know once they've done so, and I'll check again! :)

Hi!

According to both

http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=a%3ablog.wildliliesjewelry.com

and

http://who.is/dns/wildliliesjewelry.com

I don't see a CNAME record for blog.wildliliesjewelry.com. Can you ask Volusion to make sure they did it properly? If they say that they did, can you ask them to show you verifiable evidence of that?

Once they've set it, all you need to do to set your primary domain is simply to select the box beside "blog.wildliliesjewelry.com" and then click "Update Primary Domain" on this page:

https://blogdotwildliliesjewelrydotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

You don't need to pay again, as you already have paid, as you said.

As for

volusion said I do not need the WordPress domain because I have the Volusion Domain.

just to be clear, you are not getting a WordPress domain, since they are correct in that you already have the domain registered with them. What you are getting is the ability to use blog.wildliliesjewelry.com with your WordPress.com-hosted site.

I hope that makes things a little clearer. Let me know if you have more questions, otherwise I will wait for confirmation that Volusion created the CNAME for you, and I'll check to make sure that they did before assisting you in updating your primary domain.

Thank you. Volusion created the CName record, but they could not help me with changing the "primary domain" on wordpress. So, I tried by going to

https://blogdotwildliliesjewelrydotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains as you suggested.

I do not understand how to change the domain? The option is domain mapping for $13.00. Isn't that what I already did when I previously paid $13. I do not mind paying $13 again since clearly I made a mistake setting this up. But I do not want to make a mistake again. Am I deleting the original domain I set up with wordpress when I pay the $13. volusion said I do not need the WordPress domain because I have the Volusion Domain. But paying $13 again does not seem like I am going to get that accomplished. Please let me know what I am supposed to do now?

It appears to me that you registered the domain name wildliliesjewelry.com with Volusion.com, is that correct?

http://who.is/whois/wildliliesjewelry.com

If so, you will need to contact their support and ask them to create the following CNAME record:

blog.wildliliesjewelry.com. IN CNAME blogdotwildliliesjewelrydotcom.wordpress.com.

Note that the periods after the domain name are important. You can ask Volusion support to have a look here for more information:

You can contact Volusion support here:

Once they have created the CNAME record, you need to change the "primary domain" here:

What you really want to do is map your blog here as a subdomain of your existing web site - not register a new domain name

When I signed up for the blog I entered my name as
"blog.wildliliesmjewelry.com". But it is showing as "blogdot.wildliliesjewelrydotcom.wordpress.com" how do I fix this? I paid for this name and it is wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
