The instructions I initially gave far above under your original post were to map furnituresalad.com to your WordPress.com site, which I now understand is not what you're trying to do.

You'll need to log into your domain registrar to deactivate any domain forwarding that may be set up there, which is pointing furnituresalad.com to furnituresalad.ca.

Let me know how it goes.

I want my mollysfurnituresalad.wordpress.com blog to map to furnituresalad.ca only, not furnituresalad.com. I don't want the url redirection. Is it something that I should change from my domain host, or is it something that you can do to cancel it for me?

I've already done step 1, changing the name servers for furnituresalad.com to point to WordPress.

It looks like the forwarding of furnituresalad.com to furnituresalad.ca is not coming from a WordPress.com domain-mapping upgrade, but instead from a setting at your end, perhaps through a forwarding service offered by your domain registrar. I suggest starting off by logging into your domain registrar's control panel and seeing if you have some forwarding set up there. Here are that domain's current settings:

Domain Name: furnituresalad.com
Registrar: WEBNAMES.CA INC
Whois Server: whois.webnames.ca
Referral URL: http://www.webnames.ca
Name Server: ns1.meganameservers.com
Name Server: ns3.meganameservers.com
Name Server: ns2.meganameservers.com

Let me know how it goes.

Here is some information about WordPress.org for those who are new to it:

http://codex.wordpress.org/New_To_WordPress_-_Where_to_Start

all I'm trying to do is to upload my html website onto wordpress, is that possible? I have my site made in dreamweaver.

You can't simply upload a static site made in Dreamweaver to WordPress since WordPress is a database-driven content-management system that needs its files in a special format, with certain specific code on them. Those files form what's called the "theme." If you'd like to learn how to convert your site into a WordPress theme, it's possible to do - here's a starting point about WordPress theme development:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development

Or, you can use one of the many ready-made WordPress themes and adapt it to your liking.

If you have further questions about WordPress.org, please feel free to explore or ask for help in the support forums over there:

http://wordpress.org/support/

Good luck!

Hi there, there are no FTP credentials with WordPress.com sites, because you never need to interact with the server directly. Only self-hosted WordPress.org sites have FTP access. To learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, feel free to have look at this:

If you'd like to map your domain furnituresalad.com to furnituresalad.wordpress.com, there are two steps:

1) Update the name servers for furnituresalad.com to point to WordPress:

ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com

Please read the heads-up here before you do this, since this will affect any emails on the domain you may already be using:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

2) Purchase domain mapping for furnituresalad.com under Store > Domains.

Enter furnituresalad.com in the text box and follow the instructions from there. Please note that since we don't provide email hosting, you'll need to set up email separately with a third-party email provider:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/

It looks like your furnituresalad.ca domain mapping is pointing to a different site than the one above - mollysfurnituresalad.wordpress.com, not furnituresalad.wordpress.com. If you no longer want the domain furnituresalad.ca mapped to any sites, just let me know and I can either cancel it, or change the mapping to furnituresalad.com instead. If you opt to go the second route, we should only make the switch once you get your name servers and email sorted out, following the above instructions.

Just let me know how you'd like to proceed.
