Thank you. The problem seems to have resolved itself. I presume WordPress staff did something behind the scenes. Whatever it was worked! Thanks for your prompt attention to this problem. I've really enjoyed using WP.

I am using Kubrick. My home page is not displaying properly and its not a cookies/cache issue. http://ushealthpolicygateway.wordpress.com/

When I view-source, the top line says: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

On another blog using Kubrick (which displays correctly), the first line simply has <!DOCTYPE html> without all the junk that follows, so I'm assuming that's causing the display error. I don't know how to edit the extraneous material out. That is, if I go to the page itself to edit, all I see is the html that follows the header. On the Kubrick Theme page, there's an Activate button, but I worry that's going to wipe out my existing header and very extensive right hand navigation bar.

When I go to Header under Appearance in the Dashboard, I see an option to Remove Header image or Restore Header image. Again, out of an abundance of caution, I don't want to select either of these if there's a risk it would affect my sidebar. It's trivial to replace the header content, but the side navigation bar is a different matter.

Any advice would be appreciated.
