I do not want to recirculate my old post via Facebook and Twitter, but instead simply through the WordPress community.

There is no means of doing that. Every time you publish a post it appears on the Categories/Tags pages that you assigned to it, and is displayed in order of the original date of publication only. http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/
