In order to set photos for the front page in the theme you're using, you need to set featured images. Any photos you do have in each post will still show by clicking on the title of each excerpt. For instance, clicking on the title of '18 months baby M' takes you to this page: http://beechtreephotography.com/2012/02/15/18-months-baby-m/ and your photos are there.

In your post editor, click on the module that has 'featured image' in it (if you don't see the module, look at the top of the editor window for 'screen options' and check it') then the image editor will appear. Browse to the image you want to use, via that, in the usual way, and then when you've found it, click the 'featured image' and when it appears in the module (outside the edit box) just close the image editor, and save your post as usual. These two links should help:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

and

http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/

I had photos with my blog posts and when I changed themes they disappeared. They are still in the library, but do not show with the posts. I already cleared the cache and cookies. Very frustrated with wordpress right now!
