i can't find the menu on friendster blogs that you're talking about

Perhaps the place to go for help to locate the function you need at friendster to export your blog there to a file is friendster support. I found a friendster link to "Exporting Your Blog Content" instructions (scroll down the page to find it) that may be helpful http://help.blogs.friendster.com/weblogs/manage.html

so you could just:
1. export your friendster blog to a file. using the menu on friendster blogs
2. and then in wordpress import tab, choose typepad.

and voila! you get your friendster blogs in the new place. works for me beautifully. :-D
