You can disable infinite scroll but doing so to get rid of the pop-up in the footer results in a "Load More Posts" tab as yiu have noted. That "Load More Posts" tab can be disabled or re-styled and you can have "previous post" and "next post" links, if you have the Custom Design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Oh, on the contact Support thing, there's a change there as well. Since about March or so, if you have a paid upgrade you can get to them, otherwise whatever is submitted on the contact form is rerouted to the Community forums.

There was quite a long forum discussion thread on when IS was introduced with loud yays and nays.

If you have the Custom Design/CSS upgrade, it might be possible to disable it.

I don't have time right now to locate the threads for you, but try clicking on the "infinite scroll" tag I've added to this thread and searching there.

Very disappointing, especially because there's not option to disable it. It's not "the future", it's simply a matter of personal taste. Forcing people to use and like it, doesn't feel right at all.

Btw, I tried to avoid the forum, but somehow there's no option to send in a mail for help. I'm pretty sure there is, but it's probably a secret entrance somewhere.

Since the subject of your blog may be considered mature, I've tagged this post to ask Staff to remove the link from the public forums.

As far as 200 posts showing up, this is not new, it's called "Infinite Scroll" and you can read about it here. http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/to-infinity-and-beyond/

Since it's being rolled out to every theme that supports it, it may be that it was recently introduced to the theme you are using, Nishita.

All of a sudden my blog has changed: a few days ago there were 50 posts visible on my blog, with the option to click on older posts. Now all 200 posts get loaded in one single page and I truly hate that. How on earth did this happen?
