What instruction are they referring to?

Your domain points to the WordPress.com servers. The only thing we need are their MX records to we can point e-mails that are send to your domain to crazy domain's mail servers.

That is the instruction for to update the Mx record from their side. However, it seems you cannot update the IP address.
Could you please find out the Ip address of your website, so that we could update it for you.

Any suggestions?

Note it might take a day or two before the records are fully propagated.

I've tried inserting the MX code in there, but didn't work. Although, it was one line only, whereas the example here on WP is 5 lines or so.

In order to redirect e-mail to your mail host, you'll need to request MX records. These records can be set in your WordPress.com dashboard so that e-mail is rerouted through the correct host.
