Featured images replace the header on static pages and single posts. The "Blog" page isn't a static page, it's a dynamic page. The image you want on that page must be uploaded in Appearance > Header.

OK, so here's the blog page, all the posts are posting here. http://sherrypeters.wordpress.com/blog-4/

See the header image? It's like all pastels and buildings, etc. But if you click on the links of my other pages, you'll see that I have different pictures in that header featured image spot.

Like this: http://sherrypeters.wordpress.com/
and this: http://sherrypeters.wordpress.com/coaching-2/

For each page, through the Dashboard setting, I had uploaded the picture as the featured image. Even on the Blog page. But then I set it to be the only page for posts, and this may be the problem because technically it's my 'front page', so I still have to have the regular header image set to the default. If I change it to the one I want, it changes it on all the pages.

If I remove the header image all together (Appearance>> Header) It takes out all of them even with the featured image uploaded for each page.

Is that clearer? I hope so :D

Thanks.

OK, one more question. So, I've got the posts posting where I want them, all is great. Wonderful. Yay! The problem now is with the Featured Image. On all the other pages, I have it changed to what I want. I had it on this page, and then somehow, it changed back to the theme default. The only way I've figured out how to change that, is to re-create the page. Is there an easier way or should I just give up on that part?

Thanks!

The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page
Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.
If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

Hi there,
There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.

Please see the entries that follow:
Creating a custom menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#creating-a-custom-menu

Adding static pages to a custom menu. They are not category pages and they do not automatically update. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pages

Adding the dynamic automatically updating Categories pages that the software creates to a custom menu
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-category-pages

Here’s a link to a custom menu walk-through > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/08/11/wordpress-com-custom-menu-walk-through/
