If you would like to link your username to your blog s those who are helping you can immediately locate it that's easily done. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes. :)

Yes I saw, the site was http://crakette.wordpress.com/
but as I explained I moved my header image in the background itself and disabled header images, and it is working somehow for what I want to achieve ... I'll stick to that for now and continue my research on resizing headers in twenty eleven later :-)

I will just close, because in the end, I used a very ugly workaround > I put my header in the background itself but it works. It's of course very bad for SEO but I dont necessarilly care a lot about SEO on this site.

But I think your answer is making sens, and in line with advices from timethief > if you use custom css on header, forget about the header uploader!

In general, once you change either dimension on a header, or you change the width of the theme, you can no longer use the header uploader in the dashboard since it will always use the original dimensions. From that point forward you have to use a background declaration in the CSS to add a header image.

When you alter a theme’s stylesheet, you only need to put in the Editor the modification/additions to the CSS, not the entire thing. Read this for more info:

and to upload a new header image which is 210px but the rendering keeps the HTML attributes at 288px and my image is resized and very ugly. Any tips how to just change the height of the image and use an image that is not rescaled?
