i have a webhost!i want to link my blog to my website, so that it's all in 1 location, under the domain name, which i also own.

There two very different kinds of WordPress. Only those who have wordpress.org installs can have shopping carts.

We do not provide support for installing the capacity on your website to draw the RSS feed from your blog. Every wordpress blog has an RSS feed for comments and for posts (entries). This is the URL for the feed for your blog’s posts (entries):

On your webiste you will have to write something in PHP or javascript to do that. Here are a couple options:

(sorry i am a novice, and need some walking through the steps, which is why i wanted to talk to someone - i find it easier to ask direct questions as they come up - this has been very frustrating - building my own website) i know that i can't have ecommerce on my free blog, this i know, what i want to know is how to link my website, which i have a host for & hopefully incorporate it all into 1 space (was hoping i could do that w/wordpress) - now i'm not sure if you're misunderstanding me, or if i'm misunderstanding you, because i know other small, local business who have their website through wordpress (w/shopping carts!)

Your issue is not one that requires Staff attention. I answered it accurately above. There is no upgrade you can purchase form WordPress.com that will allow you to have an ecommerce blogs with a shopping cart. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separeate and if you want an ecommerce blog with a shopping cart then you have to hire a web host and get a free software install from wordpress.org.

If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality, there are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a free hosted WordPress.com blog.
