I may be stating the obvious but was your self hosted site available at the time of the import and for a while afterwards? If the host was down at this time it might be worth trying again.

@noesloquetengo
The worst case scenario is that you will have to bulk upload all the images into your Media Library and then edit each post and insert them. As "Download and Import attached files" did not work for you I recommend that you contact Staff and see if they can help you with this issue. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
P.S. My fingers are crossed for you.

Hello!
I imported a WordPress blog from a WXR file and did it with the option "Download and Import attached files" more than 20 times (as I read should be done in forum post http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/export-images-from-wordpresscom-to-worpressorg?replies=7)
The entries and comments were imported properly but the images of the post were not imported and the url path of the images in the path are still pointing to the old server.

The blog I imported was a self-hosted version of WordPress, maybe that's the reason why the images weren't imported? Does anyone know a way to do it?
The topic I mention before is closed to new replies so I can't ask these guys to help me and explain if what I did is right in my particular case

Thanks a lot,
