Just so that I can confirm, the visualization has changed, right? And what used to be separately in the "insert/upload images button" and "insert/upload videos button" is now together in the "upload/insert media button".
Where can I get information about all the changes (so that I'm sure I've noticed them all?)

If you do, try temporarily disabling it and see if you can then upload and insert images.

Will you please provide us with some details so we can try to help you?

1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

3.Which browser and version of it are you using?

4. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

5. Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.

7. Do you have JavaScript enabled?

8. Do you have another browser you can try?

P.S. IMHO this probably has nothing to do with living in Europe. From what I can tell based on over 5 1/2 years here, announcements rarely precede changes.

I have a post sitting there, ready and waiting, and whenever I click on the new insert media link the screen just goes gray and no drop box or option to select files is available. Is this only a problem for me? My theme is delicious design.

I'm sure they used to be there as I use them often. It allows me to insert/upload media, and through that I can insert images, but it is not the same thing.
Can anyone help me?
