It will stay consistent after it's settled down in all the interstitial nodes between where you are and where it is on WP's servers. Since each time you access it it will take a slightly different path, that's where the time factor comes in. After a couple of days it'll work smoothly for good.

And yes, it works fine for me again.

Is it still up for you? It was up for me immediately after posting this topic, and now its down again. Does the settling of DNS settings typically cause intermittent errors like that, or do they usually stay consistently available once it makes the connection?

It can take up to three days for the DNS to settle down. If it's any consolation, it worked immediately for me in Vancouver on a slow connection.

I recently imported by blog from blogger to wordpress.com; pointed my DNS names to ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com, and ns3.wordpress.com; upgraded the domain mapping; and then set http://www.OfDustAndKings.com as my primary domain. I then allowed a day for the DNS settings to take effect. Since then, I have been able to access my blog off and on. It will work for a while, and then I will either get a 404 error, or a redirect loop error. After a few hours, this problem will go away, only to come back randomly at a later period in time.

I have tried to figure this out, but to no avail. My settings seem correct, and I am not savvy enough to diagnose and rectify the situation. I would appreciate your help. Thanks.
