You're welcome!

does WP inform us when the ip address changes so we can update with our domain host?

No. We don't share the IP address associated with a name server since it can change at any time, so it would be optimal if you can use a domain registrar that only requires the name servers.

Thank you for your reply bryanvillarin ('Happiness Engineer' - love it!)

To ensure that a domain name registered with a host other than WP continues to redirect to our blog, does WP inform us when the ip address changes so we can update with our domain host?

Thanks again.

I intend to arrange a paid upgrade to point my domain name to my wordpress blog.

I have read the instructions for mapping an existing domain registered with another host to my blog however my domain name host (crazy domains) are also asking for an 'ip address' in addition to updating the name server to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM etc.

Is there a standard ip address for wordpress.com or has anyone else had this situation with their domain host when mapping their domain name to their blog.

Thank you
