However, the export files are zip files. There is no FTP access to WordPress.com blogs and we cannot upload zip files into WordPress.com blogs.

(Like I said, the export from Google is relatively unusable as-is, and I don't have the knowledge or skills to write something to do it for me.)

I'll see if I can find an XML exporter somewhere.

Google + does not have an app for autoposting content from site to site to site. + IMHO that the best thing about Google + as that means there isn't duplicated, triplicated, quadruplicated content.

Unless you can get an XML export file of your content from Google + so you can upload it into your blog using the importer then you are looking at a copy and paste move. http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

I'm asking for help importing stuff from G+ to a wordpress.com blog.

Perhaps I should have used something more explicit than "import my stream from there to HERE", or mention as my 5th step that I'd be importing to a wordpress.COM account.

It has nothing to do with WP if one installs WP on a local system.

I'm countering with this. It has nothing to do with WordPress.com if one needs support for a local install of WordPress. We do not provide support on these WordPress.com support forums to those who have local installs and never have in the 6 years I have been here.

Sounds like it might work - but you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG for help with what you want to do for the local install and Plugin -

Why is this so? It has nothing to do with WP if one installs WP on a local system. I have done it and I sometimes write my posts on my local machines before I export them to post them here.

I didn't ask anybody for permission to do this. Most things are downloadable free of charge.

The export file thingie is the easy part - and unless your blog is a monster for content the export is a couple of button clicks.

install wordpress locally using MAMP
install "google plus importer for wordpress" plugin
import from G+ to the local install,
export the local wordpress stuff to some kind of file thingie (i'm fuzzy on this step)
import the file thingie to the wordpress.com account

I've looked at the DataLiberation output and it's very... poorly organized (alphabetically by first word), and I haven't found any tools to change that.
