Yesterday I opened my WordPress account using Google Chrome, and voila, the crop window / function appeared in the appearance / header function and the edit image function. It used to come up all the time with IE9. Stopped about a week ago or so.

katjamintokyo - are you using IE9 when you experience the problem? When you say "imported images" - do you mean any image you upload or are you referring to something else?
