So you're saying that certain themes can implement this feature for me? Is this done by using the "sticky" feature for that theme, or is it some other setting/feature?

The number of posts per page you set in Settings>Reading applies to all dynamic pages - your main posts page and your categories pages alike. The only way you could have something close to what you're looking for is by switching to Duster, Twenty Eleven or The Morning After; see here:

I did a search for frontpage and went through the Reading help but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

What I'd like is to have my most recent post displayed in full on the frontpage. This is the easy part. ;-)

Here's the hard part: When you visit a page displaying posts within a category, or when you click on "Older posts" or "Newer posts" at the bottom of the page, it only shows 1 post per page instead of several posts per page.

At first glance, it looks like I only have 1 post in a category, when really, there's several, but the settings allow me to display only 1 post at a time without having to disrupt the settings I'd like to have for the frontpage.

Is there any way to do this on a WordPress.com hosted blog?
