Drop the "s' and your problem will disappear.

So I'm trying to link my blog to the normal social media (Twitter, Facebook) but am worried about my fb link.

So far, the only way I can get it to connect is by logging on to facebook first and then adding the url.
Instead of http:// it is https//

Am I making sense? I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. The https is what concerns me.
