raincoaster, thanks, that makes sense. I had decided to work around the immediate problem by just multiple-posting, but I will also experiment with this and see if working in a published post goes better.

Drafts and actual posts work very differently. I'd suggest you design a post this way, set the date back ten years, and publish. See what happens. There are some glitchy failures in Draft, particularly on single post issues like this.

The url is http://clarkandpeterson.wordpress.com
I'm still dealing with drafts at this point.

I've read all the splitting content documentation. I want to split content with pagination as described, and then I'm trying to create links across the splits.

Also note that next page pagination is NOT the same as creating <srtong> page jumps http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/
All methods of splitting content are found in support documentation. >

I'm trying to do a big post, and I've broken it into 10 pages using the handy <!--nextpage-->. Works fine. I need to link to each page by title, however.

I can make the page jumps work if there's no pagination.

I tried the trick from here:
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-set-up-a-jump-between-pages?replies=16
where Wolfieb suggests putting the whole url of the post before the #, but that doesn't seem to work.

To rephrase:
a post with mulitple pages; I want to have a list of titles on the first page that jump you to the corresponding page.

Thanks!
