You assign sub-categories to parent categories. Category parent – If you want to nest a category within a category, select the parent category. Otherwise leave at None. You display them in the sidebar in a categories widget. There must be one published post in each Category and sub-category in order for there to be anything to display.

When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages.
