This is very inconvenient that the two sites are incompatible. Using a third party for a service I paid Worpress.com for is unbelievable. I suggest WordPress.com start accepting incoming domain transfers or be able to offer instructions to make the mapping work as a better business practice. I've seen I'm not the only one in the forums with this problem. I'm very unsatisfied with this solution.

Unfortunately, WordPress.com doesn't accept incoming domain transfers, which is why you're not finding anywhere to input the authorization code Wix provided you with.

The easiest solution would be for you to transfer your domain to a third-party domain registrar, and then update the name servers to point them to WordPress. There are many registrars to choose from.

If you need any further help, just let me know.

Correct I want my Wix purchased domain to map to WordPress.
Currently WordPress explains how to change server names in the A records.
Wix only allows for a change in the IP address in the A records, the server name is fixed.
Wix offeres a transfer code, that I do not see any indication of having any use on WordPress.

Or perhaps I've misunderstood altogether - are you moving from a Wix site to WordPress? Macmanx's instructions are for the reverse - moving from WordPress.com to another provider.

Do you want to transfer your domain to Wix so that they become your domain registrar, or keep the domain registered with WordPress.com but point the A records to Wix?

Those are two mutually exclusive things. If Wix accepts incoming domain transfers, you would start the transfer process at their end, following their instructions. We don't need any code input at the WordPress end.

If, on the other hand, you want to keep your domain registered through WordPress but point your A record to Wix, let me know and I can help you set it up. To do that, please confirm the A record IP address that Wix has instructed you to use. Thanks.

"2. Once you're logged in, click on the domain name you want to edit." This takes me to my site (which is down and still hosted by wix)
"3. Under Nameservers, click on "Set Nameservers". " I can not get to this.

I've changed the A (Host) to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM.dentonsbackyard.com to point to IP 72.233.69.14, NS2.WORDPRESS.COM.dentonsbackyard.com / 76.74.159.137, NS3.WORDPRESS.COM.dentonsbackyard.com / 64.34.177.159. I am unable to take dentonsbackyard.com off when editing the A. Should I try NS1.dentonsbackyard.com, et al.
I asked wix to transfer my domain and they gave me a transfer code... and there is no where on the wordpress website to use it. Please help me transfer my wix domain.
