Also, every time I set up a new menu, the first disappears and only the newly added one shows up.

The entire menu bar is the custom menu. What you add to it are "items" in the custom menu; they are not menus.

Add page to menu. Save menu, save menu again in the primary navigation box. It still doesn't work. For one thing, I see the menu at the top when I add it but it's under the page's name, not the menu's. Also, every time I set up a new menu, the first disappears and only the newly added one shows up. The theme Im using says it allows menu customization. Please help, this is driving me up the wall.( I'm very new to blogging, btw, so this setup stuff is still a doozie. :-) )
