I don't see any advantages for you. It's just as easy to do it to a fully set up WordPress.org install as it is to import to WordPress.com.

Thanks, I guess I'm not being clear enough with my question, which is: should I switch to wordpress.COM first and then once that hurdle is accomplished, change over to wordpress.ORG when I integrate the blog into the website? That seems the best option to me because I am afraid of doing both moves at the same time. I'm just looking for opinions from people who might have done this before. So, no, my site isn't hosted on wordpress.com YET, but it might be later on today!
Thanks.

Hello,
I have a blog over on Blogger which I would like to migrate to WordPress, and would also like to integrate it into my website at the same time (making the blog the homepage of my site). Not sure why I have had them separate all this time when I already owned the domain. My question is, should I migrate to WP first, and then map the blog onto the domain, or the other way around? And when I map the blog onto the domain, does the existing home page (index file) just disappear?
Thanks for any help.
