dear MacManx, TimeThief and NomadicPhotog,

thank you for your responses and help.

What happened to NomadicPhotog is the same thing as happened with my account yesterday. The posts were left only as a title and then re-directed to a blank "error" page.

After I posted this message for assistance/explanation, I went ahead and re-posted all 11 blog posts. While I was doing that, apparently the issue self-corrected. Because once I was done re-posting, the original posts were back to normal and then I had a double of everything.

I deleted those (which are the posts you must have seen in the Trash, Mac).

I've re-set my settings to https: log in secure setting. Thanks for that tip, TimeThief. Since I re-set my password yesterday afternoon, I think I'll keep it for now. And hope that this doesn't happen again.

Thank you again for your quick responses and your willingness to help!

Kind Regards,
Paige

Actually, once you change your passwords, check the Trash sub-section under your Dashboard's Posts section. I see 10 posts in there.

The deleted posts I was referring to earlier were permanently deleted from the Trash, but these 10 posts that are still in the Trash may be what you're looking for. If so, you can recover them from there.

I see that several posts were deleted by your localfoodandwine account just a few minutes ago, and several comments were edited by your account 10 days ago.

If you did not do this, please change your WordPress.com password and email password now, as your email can be used to reset your WordPress.com password.

Make sure that you use a strong password: https://en.support.wordpress.com/selecting-a-strong-password/

Once you have changed your passwords, please let me know, and I'll see if anything is recoverable.

I had a similar thing happen to 2 of my 3 posts a little while ago. They disappeared, and seemed to have been erased. I tried repeatedly to view them, and only saw an error message. Then they reappeared, without my seeming to do anything to fix the problem. I'm wondering if wordpress is a little flaky today??

Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one because that's how many hackers gain access to blogs
Read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/

1. If you can log-in go here > Users > All Users and delete any user that does not belong there.

2. Disable post by email > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/

3. Disable post by voice > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-voice/

4. Change your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password

5. Use a secure, encrypted connection to connect to your Dashboard. Under Users → Personal Settings, check the box that says “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages, and click Save Changes.

all my recent posts have been erased. I am the only person who has login access on this account. As of 3pm this afternoon everything looked normal. I just logged back on and my most recent 11 posts have been blanked out, erased.
Can you explain what happened please?
I am going to repost them now. But this is odd. I changed my password this afternoon. Could it have something to do with that?
